CryptoStuffConverter is a free tool that converts any cryptocurrency into everyday items โ€” not just dollars.

Unlike CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap which only convert crypto to fiat currencies, CryptoStuffConverter shows what your crypto actually buys in real life: bread, gas, rent, cigarettes, a Lamborghini, an ambulance ride, a gallon of printer ink, and 200+ more items.

Key features:

  • Convert 50+ cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, SOL, DOGE, and more) into 200+ everyday items
  • Live prices updated hourly from CoinGecko
  • Crypto Basket Index (CBI) โ€” a proprietary index tracking real crypto purchasing power against a basket of everyday goods, updated daily
  • 37,000+ individual conversion pages with historical data, comparisons, and FAQs
  • Fun and absurd items alongside serious ones โ€” from a single french fry ($0.02) to the International Space Station ($150 billion)
  • Share any conversion result on social media
  • Monthly Crypto Purchasing Power Index report with original data and analysis

Example conversions:

  • 1 Bitcoin = 23,762 loaves of bread
  • 1 Dogecoin = 0.025 loaves of bread
  • You need 310 million Shiba Inu to pay one month of US rent
  • 1 BTC = 8.8 Super Bowl tickets
  • A gallon of printer ink costs 0.063 BTC

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Vim Python IDE and CryptoStuffConverter.

What makes your product unique?

CryptoStuffConverter's answer:

It converts crypto into everyday items, not just dollars. No other tool shows how many loaves of bread, gallons of gas, or months of rent your Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Dogecoin can buy. It also tracks purchasing power over time with the Crypto Basket Index โ€” data that doesn't exist anywhere else.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

CryptoStuffConverter's answer:

CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap convert crypto to fiat currencies. We convert crypto to real stuff โ€” bread, gas, rent, cigarettes, a Lamborghini, an ambulance ride, and 200+ more items. We also track real purchasing power over time, which no competitor does.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

CryptoStuffConverter's answer:

Crypto holders who want to understand what their coins are actually worth in real-world terms. Also useful for financial journalists covering crypto purchasing power and anyone curious about what everyday items cost in Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Dogecoin.

What's the story behind your product?

CryptoStuffConverter's answer:

Every crypto converter shows dollars. But dollars are abstract. I wanted to know what my crypto actually buys โ€” how many loaves of bread, gallons of gas, months of rent. Nobody had built that, so I did. It started as a simple converter and evolved into a full purchasing power tracking platform with 37,000+ pages and a proprietary index.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

CryptoStuffConverter's answer:

Next.js, React, CoinGecko API for crypto prices, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data for item prices. Hosted on Replit.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

CryptoStuffConverter's answer:

  • Individual crypto holders checking what their portfolio actually buys
  • Crypto enthusiasts sharing fun conversions on social media
  • Financial analysts referencing the Crypto Basket Index
  • Bloggers and newsletter writers citing purchasing power data
