VidFinder is the video library app that finds any clip in seconds.

Built for editors and content creators drowning in footage, VidFinder ends the guesswork of remembering where you saved that one video. No more digging through folders, second-guessing naming conventions, or opening your editor just to check a single frame.

What it does:

  • Smart Search – Finds clips by what they look like, not just what they're named. One search across your tags, file names, folders, and visuals surfaces the right clip every time.
  • Thumbnail Scrub – Hover over any clip and scroll to scrub through the footage in real time. No download, no loading screen, no opening your editing software.
  • Bulk Export – Quick-select everything you need into a holding tray, then drag the whole batch straight into Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, CapCut – even email or Slack. One drag, done.
  • Custom Tags – Unlimited, fully custom categories. VidFinder auto-detects new videos and prompts you to tag them, individually or across multiple clips at once.

We built VidFinder because nothing else did the job. After years of managing video libraries in Finder and trying every workaround that should have worked but didn't, we were sick of guessing where we saved a video. So we made the tool we wished existed.

Stop searching. Start finding.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing VidFinder and LaunchRender.

What makes your product unique?

VidFinder's answer

VidFinder searches your footage by what it looks like, not just what it's named. One search across your tags, file names, folders, and visuals finds the right clip every time. Its standout feature is thumbnail scrub – hover over any clip and scroll to preview the footage in real time, with no download, no loading, and no need to open your editor just to check a frame. It's something no other tool has managed to do properly.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

VidFinder's answer

Because nothing else actually solves the problem. Folder systems, naming conventions, and generic file search all fall apart once your library grows. VidFinder is purpose-built for video: it understands what's inside your clips, lets you scrub any file without opening it, supports unlimited custom tags, and bulk-exports straight into Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, or CapCut in a single drag. It replaces the guesswork of hunting through folders with finding any clip in seconds.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

VidFinder's answer

Video editors and content creators on Mac who manage large, growing video libraries – people with thousands of clips who are tired of guessing where they saved a video and digging through folders to find it.

What's the story behind your product?

VidFinder's answer

VidFinder exists because nothing else did. After years of managing video libraries in Apple Finder – trying every foldering system, every naming convention, and every workaround that should have worked but didn't – it became clear the right tool simply didn't exist. We were sick of having to guess where we saved a video, so we built VidFinder.
