Video editors usually require downloading the original video, making the changes and uploading the edited video.

If the video is not yours then copyright issues may arise and the original video authors must be contacted and eventual permission obtained.

Using platforms like YouTube add another source of potential violations because hosting and delivering the video are done under stated policies, often not very easy to understand by lay people.

All this, in addition to the technical difficulties of extracting the original video, may discourage extracting added value of the original videos potential.

Or, even worse, may lead to abuse the copyright of the videos owners and eventually violate the hoster policies, even when they make obvious sense.

With VideosCut we are aiming to respect the rights of the authors and the hoster while at the same time enabling extracting more value from existing videos.

Videos became crucial to democratize education and training around the globe. We hope VideosCut will contribute to a better world!

Possible disadvantages of VideosCut

VideosCut lacks advanced editing capabilities such as transitions, effects, multi-track editing, color grading, and audio mixing that more professional video editors offer.
  • File Size and Format Limitations
As a browser-based tool, there may be restrictions on the maximum file size that can be uploaded and the range of supported video formats, limiting usability for larger or less common file types.
  • Dependent on Internet Connection
Since the tool is entirely web-based, users need a stable and reasonably fast internet connection to upload, process, and download videos, which can be inconvenient in areas with poor connectivity.
  • Processing Speed Concerns
Online video processing can be slower compared to desktop applications, especially for larger files, as it depends on server capacity and internet bandwidth rather than local hardware.
  • Privacy and Security Concerns
Uploading video files to a third-party online service raises potential privacy and data security concerns, particularly for users working with sensitive or confidential video content.
