Stencil Maker's answer:
Stencil Maker is built around a fast browser-first workflow. Users can upload a photo, logo, sketch, or artwork, preview the stencil locally, compare the original and result with a slider, adjust key stencil controls, and export a PNG or single-page PDF for free. AI Cleanup is available only when an image needs extra help, so simple projects do not require signup, credits, or complex design software.
Stencil Maker's answer:
People should choose Stencil Maker because it is simple, fast, and focused on real stencil projects. The free workflow supports local preview, before-and-after comparison, threshold and line-weight adjustments, and PNG/PDF export directly in the browser. It works well for tattoo references, logos, wall painting templates, printable craft stencils, QR stencils, and other practical stencil use cases.
Stencil Maker's answer:
Stencil Maker is mainly for artists, tattoo designers, crafters, makers, educators, small businesses, and DIY users who need to turn images into printable or traceable stencil designs. It is especially useful for people preparing tattoo references, wall art, logos, signs, craft patterns, pumpkin carving templates, and simple cut-ready artwork.
Stencil Maker's answer:
Stencil Maker was created to make stencil creation easier for people who do not want to use complex design tools. Many users just need to turn an image into a clean, printable stencil, compare the result, adjust a few important settings, and download a usable file. The goal is to provide a simple browser-based starting point for practical stencil projects, with optional AI cleanup for images that need more refinement.
Stencil Maker's answer:
Stencil Maker is built as a modern browser-based web application using JavaScript, React-style frontend components, client-side image processing, and standard web export technologies for PNG and PDF generation. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, with optional server-side services used for heavier AI cleanup, account features, credits, and production workflows.

I think vector magic is the current state of the art: https://vectormagic.com/?=20 No one seems to have tried to leverage deep learning yet; either because they haven't thought of doing so, or it just wouldn't be worthwhile. Image to SVG's are an inherently deterministic task, with not much room for the noisy error of most deep learning models like stable diffusion and such. I think algorithmic approaches... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
The best pixel to vector is still vectormagic. They are on it since at least 2009 and have a native desktop app. I am not affiliated but just a bit flabbergasted that they are still so far ahead. https://vectormagic.com/. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
This is the most impressive raster to vector I have seen: https://vectormagic.com Vtracer doesn't seem to do as well. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
