I have not dabbled too much in printing, but there is a tool PosteRazor which allows you to take an image and break it apart into a multi-page PDF so you can print in your preferred paper size. If you have a decent printer at home and tweak the tool enough, you should be able to print them on standard sheets of paper and then tape the borders together.
