WindowGriduBar is recommended for macOS users who want more control over their workspace organization and those who prefer a taskbar-based interface over the traditional macOS Dock. It's ideal for power users, multi-taskers, and anyone seeking to enhance productivity through a personalized and feature-rich docking experience.
WindowGrid is recommended for professionals, such as developers, designers, and anyone who requires efficient window management to improve their multitasking capabilities. It is also beneficial for users with large displays or multi-monitor setups who want to streamline their workspace.
uBar might be a bit more popular than WindowGrid. We know about 10 links to it since March 2021 and only 7 links to WindowGrid. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
Probably overkill, especially given it's a paid app, but uBar (Dock replacement) has a shortcut that restarts an app: cmd+shift+click on the app icon. Source: almost 4 years ago
I use uBar, you can have all windows ungrouped on the bar and it should have the title for each window. Source: about 4 years ago
There's always Ubar for an alt to the dock. It's Windows-esq. Https://brawersoftware.com/products/ubar. Source: over 4 years ago
UBar could help quite a bit. It replaces the MacOS dock with a Windows-style taskbar. That along with Start, which is basically a Windows Start Menu for the Mac, and she should be good to go. Source: almost 5 years ago
Here is what Iยดve found elsewhere: uBar - Cost 30$ - I havent tested this, purely because I doubt I would be paying 30 bux for a dock, also from screenshots, it seems to be tailored to looking like a windows taskbar, which I am not looking for. Source: almost 5 years ago
On my Windows PC I am using Window Grid , which is my favorite way to manage windows, and would love a macOS equivalent. If you haven't used it, basically it adds a right click function only when you grab a window to move it - so grabbing a window with left click (holding it down), right-clicking and then a grid pops up to help you resize and realign that particular window. Here's a gif from their website. This... Source: over 3 years ago

Another approach that does not involve the Alt key is WindowGrid and of course there is Microsoft's own FancyZones PowerToy. Source: over 4 years ago
I currently run 6 alts at the same time, to organize the windows I use a program that lets you easily place the clients in a neat grid of your choice http://windowgrid.net/. Source: over 4 years ago
You'll probably like WindowGrid. It's like fancy zones on steroids while also being simpler to use. Source: over 4 years ago
