Traecta builds your roadmap around what you already know — your previous experience isn't baggage, it's a head start.

The social physics approach is the other differentiator. Three reasons:

1. Your background counts. Coursera and Udemy start everyone at lesson one. Traecta asks what you already know and skips what you don't need. If you've managed databases for a decade, you won't sit through "What is SQL?"
   
2. You're not alone. Traditional platforms are one-directional: watch, read, take a quiz. Traecta matches you with study buddies so you have someone to push through the hard parts with. Social accountability beats willpower.
3. Proof, not promises. Most platforms give you a certificate PDF. Traecta helps you build a portfolio of real artifacts — code, projects, analyses — that you can actually show to employers.

Traecta's answer

Career switchers aged 28–40 who are moving into tech from other fields. People who already have professional experience — maybe in IT operations, administration, design, or a completely different industry — and want a structured path to their next role. They've tried online courses, got overwhelmed by choice, and dropped off. They don't need someone to teach them from scratch; they need someone to show them what to learn, what to skip, and who to learn with.

I spent 10+ years as an IT systems administrator, did web development, photography — and at 34 decided to switch to data analytics. Every course I found started with "Here's what a database is." I already knew that. Nobody asked what I already knew.

So I built my own learning roadmap in Obsidian. A hundred tabs, no structure. I ended up alone in a room with a notebook full of "useful" links and zero direction. Then I got lucky — a manager who was also learning data analytics. We started doing projects together, and I realized: learning with someone at your level changes everything. You push each other through the hard parts.

That's when it hit me: career transition shouldn't depend on luck. It should depend on a system. That's Traecta.
