Analysis of Q.U.B.E

Overall verdict

  • Q.U.B.E. is a solid first-person puzzle game that offers a satisfying, Portal-like experience with unique block-manipulation mechanics, though it doesn't quite reach the narrative or polish heights of genre leaders.

Why this product is good

  • Innovative gameplay mechanic allowing players to manipulate colored blocks (extend, retract, create staircases) to solve spatial puzzles
  • Clean, minimalist art style with a distinct white and colored-block aesthetic that keeps focus on puzzle-solving
  • Gradually escalating difficulty that teaches mechanics organically without heavy-handed tutorials
  • Satisfying sense of physical puzzle-solving using first-person perspective and environmental interaction
  • Relatively short but tightly designed experience without excessive padding
  • Later 'Director's Cut' version added a story and voice acting for those wanting more narrative context

Recommended for

  • Fans of first-person puzzle games like Portal or Antichamber
  • Players who enjoy spatial reasoning and physics-based puzzle mechanics
  • Gamers looking for a shorter, focused puzzle experience rather than a lengthy campaign
  • Those who appreciate minimalist visual design and atmospheric puzzle environments
  • Players interested in indie games that innovate on established genre formulas

  • Looking for game with good net worth (and other categories) leaderboard system.
I'm currently playing torn.com which has a global leaderboard system that tracks various stats, tho my favorite is the total Net Worth category. I looked at some other text based browser games but most of them only have the top 100 leaderboards, which are a bit irrelevant since I would never be in them. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Warp issue
Today, if I try to connect to torn.com, it just reloads over and over. Every other website I've tried works fine. Source: about 4 years ago
  • Looking for a stock trading game
Torn.com has stock trading into it and much more. Source: almost 5 years ago
  • What's the relationship between Hobowars and Torn city?
i'm sure there are still old players still playing that game. I did mention torn.com on their forums and got lots of hate for that! lol. Source: almost 5 years ago
  • Using information within a query to extend a query?
According to torn.com's documentation, there is limit of 100 req per minute. If you request data in the manner you describe... That can easily blow past the limit and may result in temp IP ban. Source: about 5 years ago
