Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing ToolShoppy and Codegres.org.

What makes your product unique?

ToolShoppy's answer

ToolShoppy processes every file entirely inside the user's browser — nothing is ever uploaded to a server. Most "free" PDF and image tools route your files through their backend; ToolShoppy's merge, compress, edit, and convert tools run on client-side JavaScript only, so sensitive documents (ID photos, forms, financial files) never leave the device. It also bakes in India/Gulf-specific presets — exact photo sizes for PSC, UPSC, PAN, and Aadhaar forms, and daily gold rate tracking for Kerala, India, and the UAE — that global tools like iLovePDF or Smallpdf don't offer.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ToolShoppy's answer

Everyday users worldwide who need quick document and image tasks done without creating an account — students and job applicants filling out government or exam forms, professionals merging or compressing PDFs, and people converting or resizing images. There's a strong secondary audience in India and the Gulf specifically: people preparing PSC/UPSC exam applications, PAN/Aadhaar submissions, and tracking daily gold rates.

What's the story behind your product?

ToolShoppy's answer

ToolShoppy started from a simple frustration: most free online tool sites make you upload personal documents — ID photos, exam forms, financial paperwork — to an unknown server just to resize or compress them. It was built to fix that by doing everything client-side, and to fill gaps that global tools ignore, like exact-KB photo compression for Indian government portals and Gulf-region gold rate tracking. It launched in July 2026 as a lean, ad-supported alternative that never asks for a signup.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

ToolShoppy's answer

Vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no framework, no build step, no server-side code. Tool-specific processing runs on client-side libraries like pdf-lib and pdf.js for PDF handling. It's hosted as a static site on Railway with Cloudflare in front for DNS/CDN, and uses Google AdSense and GA4 for monetization/analytics only (no user data collection tied to file processing).

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ToolShoppy's answer

No signup, no login, no email, no file uploads — ever. Competitors like iLovePDF and Smallpdf require account creation or file uploads to their servers for many features and gate advanced options behind a paywall. ToolShoppy keeps all 43+ tools free and fully usable with zero friction, while also solving specific pain points — like hitting an exact KB size for a government portal upload — that generic compressors don't handle precisely.
