u/MeIsALaugher Mine is doing the same thing, and I rarely download videos - only when I want to show my technophobe wife a funny video. I tried downloading from tiktok.com, and it just downloads a suspicious 568b file with an mp4 extension. It isn't just you. Source: about 3 years ago
Go to the router panel settings, you should be able to redirect some hostnames (like tiktok.com or whatever) to a custom ip or domain name like 127.0.0.1, so no devices could reach their servers as they will redirected to somewhere else. Source: about 3 years ago
Here is what you can try though: In JD, go to Settings - Plugins - tiktok.com - Download Mode - Change this to the opposite of what it currently is. If you are lucky, those items are downloadable now (only applies for items added after changing this). If that doesn't help, I recommend changing that setting back to default. After starting the project called socketify.py at https://github.com/cirospaciari/socketify.py, I got pretty good results and reviews, but many people asked if socketify.py could be used to create a WSGI and ASGI server. WSGI and ASGI have a lot of overhead, that's is why I choose not to use them in the first place, but adding an ASGI and WSGI server allows a lot of code already written to run faster!
