u/MeIsALaugher Mine is doing the same thing, and I rarely download videos - only when I want to show my technophobe wife a funny video. I tried downloading from tiktok.com, and it just downloads a suspicious 568b file with an mp4 extension. It isn't just you. Source: 11 months ago
Go to the router panel settings, you should be able to redirect some hostnames (like tiktok.com or whatever) to a custom ip or domain name like 127.0.0.1, so no devices could reach their servers as they will redirected to somewhere else. Source: 11 months ago
Here is what you can try though: In JD, go to Settings - Plugins - tiktok.com - Download Mode - Change this to the opposite of what it currently is. If you are lucky, those items are downloadable now (only applies for items added after changing this). If that doesn't help, I recommend changing that setting back to default. Source: 12 months ago

And now I checked Tiktok.com, right clicked to save a random video, and it doesnt get blocked. So Im guessing the other vid site has injected ads or on a filter list, thus it's blocking the Right click save? (which doesnt make sense because usually right click alone causes a popup ad - to block. But this site doesnt produce an ad from merely Right clicking, thus no block should be triggering on the save vid,... Source: about 1 year ago

It has no redeeming qualities. Just watch the inevitable copy of the Tik Tok to Youtube and avoid the risks of this mess. I went so far as to set up a custom DNS at home that blocks everything in the Tik Tok ecosystem (all their video server IPs and backend infrastructure in addition to tiktok.com and their app). I recently blocked reddit.com and tiktok.com because my son was seeing sexually explicit material on both. However, since, this window (https://imgur.com/a/8clDbIJ) will pop up from time to time even when he's not attempting to access those sites. What does this mean? How do I turn it off? If ByteDance is not allowed to operate in the US then I'd imagine it would be removed from phone app stores so the phone companies don't get penalized but tiktok.com would still be accessible. They might region lock their services but VPNs can get around that. Source: over 1 year ago
