Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing TextHandwriter and Sing App React Java.

What makes your product unique?

TextHandwriter's answer

TextHandwriter runs entirely in the browser — the text you type is never uploaded to a server, so it can be used for private notes and coursework without a privacy trade-off. It pairs six open-licensed handwriting fonts with a realism engine (baseline wobble, per-letter rotation, ink-pressure variation) so no two letters render identically, and it exports both per-page PNGs and a single multi-page A4 PDF. Everything is free: no watermark, no sign-up, no usage limit.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

TextHandwriter's answer

Most alternatives fall into two camps. Custom-font builders like Calligraphr ask you to scan and train your own handwriting before you get anything usable, and physical handwriting services like Handwrytten mail a real letter for a per-item fee. TextHandwriter is for the case in between: you need a handwritten-looking page right now, in the browser, at no cost. Paste text, pick a style, download a PNG or a printable multi-page PDF. Nothing to install, no account, no watermark, and the text never leaves your device.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

TextHandwriter's answer

Students and teachers are the largest group — handwritten-style assignments, worksheets and practice sheets. Beyond that: people making greeting cards, invitations and letters; designers and social-media creators who need a handwritten layer for mockups, quote graphics and journal-style visuals; and anyone who wants the look of a handwritten page without the handwriting. Because it is browser-only and free, it also suits one-off users who do not want to install software or create an account.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

TextHandwriter's answer

A deliberately small stack. The converter is plain client-side JavaScript rendering onto an HTML canvas, with the handwriting styles supplied by open-licensed (SIL OFL) Google Fonts and PDF export handled by jsPDF, self-hosted and lazy-loaded so it never slows the first paint. The site itself is static HTML generated by a Python build script and served from Cloudflare Pages. There is no backend and no database, which is exactly why nothing you type can be uploaded anywhere.

What's the story behind your product?

TextHandwriter's answer

TextHandwriter launched on 30 July 2026 as a small, focused tool. The existing options were either heavier than the job required — build and train a custom font before you can convert a single line — or asked for an account and stamped a watermark on the result. The goal here was narrower: paste text, get a handwritten page, download it, done. Keeping the rendering client-side made that possible and had a useful side effect — with no server in the loop, there is nowhere for your text to be stored.
