So Lua is the new Tcl. A lightweight scripting language designed to be embedded in other programs. Then I went and looked at http://tcl.tk and it appears the current maintainers of Tcl forgot why it exists as well. ;-) Everyone hated Tcl back in the day for similar reasons.
