Tailwind UI is a commercial component library, but even the free examples teach you solid patterns for responsive design and component architecture. I learned a lot just by reading through their example code. - Source: dev.to / 9 months ago
Studying existing component systems is a great starting point. You have to imitate and respect the systems that already exist before you can innovate on new things from scratch. I'd recommend starting by reading, building with, and imitating the most well-known frameworks for some personal projects. You can also find some good Figma projects to get started with on each of these. https://tailwindui.com/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago

There's https://tailwindui.com/?ref=top, from the Tailwind CSS people. They come with a "HTML" mode, which I think means no JS. But if you need interactivity, on the web it has to be JS, because that's the only thing that can manipulate the DOM. The alternative would be something like a server-updated Canvas where the UI is done outside of the DOM and not in the client, but even that would need some JS shims just... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago

Plausible brought open source to web analytics. Cal.com did it for scheduling. Formbricks did it for surveys. PostHog did it for product analytics. Quackback does it for feedback collection. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
> An open-source alternative to Typeform and Google Forms Those two are the two extreme ends of the target audience archetypes. So, decide which is yours. > I was using Typeform, but as time went by and more people submitted forms, it got more and more expensive. When people say they build cheaper alternatives, I often assume that the original is becoming better and more successful. Competing on price rarely wins.... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
So, Iโve been working on CodeStash, this platform for sharing and discussing code snippets, kind of a cross between Reddit and Stack Overflow. The cool part? Thereโs a built-in AI that explains code snippets, powered by Google Gemini. Whether it's some gnarly JavaScript or Python code, CodeStash lets users request an AI explanation on demand. Butโฆ AI explanations can be a bit hit-or-miss. Some users might find the... - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
Participating in the OSS.GG hackathon has been an exciting and enriching experience. Engaging with projects from multiple partners like Dub, Formbricks, Hanko, OpenBB, Papermark, Twenty, and Unkey offered me the opportunity to explore the vast landscape of open source. Through this hackathon, I didnโt just contribute to code; I also got hands-on experience in non-code contributions, which opened up new avenues for... - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
