TagWizard grew out of 35 years spent in asset management, field data collection, and regulatory compliance — including building the first rules-engine-driven refrigerant compliance software, later acquired by a major CMMS provider, and running hundreds of facility visits as an EPA and CARB subject-matter expert.

Across all of that work, the same problem kept showing up in different forms: asset data nobody could fully trust, because the process for capturing it in the field was never simple enough to get right the first time. TagWizard was built after surveying the existing tools on the market and finding that none of them actually solved that root problem — most still assumed a clean, readable nameplate would always be there.
