Https://tabletopia.com/ seems to be a freemium platform for playing many (all?) commercial boardgames and also many standard card games: hearts, bridge, whist, poker etc. And appears to simulate a tabletop for playing with others or solo. I have not played it much but it seems intuitive as a platform for playing many different boardgames online, but is a bit clunky compared to a purpose-built online game. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
Tabletopia. Web app, not many wargames available, I think. Game search is pretty rudimentary. Source: about 3 years ago
Tabletopia - Free to start. Build games through their online editor. Source: about 3 years ago
Maybe look at finding online options for the "more strategic and lengthy board games"? I know there are lots of options for Diplomacy (which is especially suitable for online play, having discrete turns), but I'm sure you'll be able to find similar online portals for other games (e.g. https://tabletopia.com). Boardgamearena.com and https://tabletopia.com/ have several more games for free as well. Table Top Simulator itself isn't free, but it does have a ton of free mods for board games. Source: over 3 years ago
I'd recommend that you try and ask this in a more specialized forum (e.g. BGG [1]). Also, if solo playable board games is a must - this drastically reduces the amount of games. Maybe also consider card games (like Solitaire)? [1] https://boardgamegeek.com/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
I would look up your current favorite game(s) on boardgamegeek.com and scroll to where it says "Fans Also Like". Click on "See All" and it'll show you a list of similar games. This is usually where I start exploring. Source: over 2 years ago
Check it out on Board Game Geek, its got reviews, ratings, etc. If itโs not a good fit thereโs surely some other Star Wars games on there too. Source: over 2 years ago
I would also recommend BGG boardgamegeek.com if you want to try out some of the more complex Eurogames. Source: over 2 years ago
This month, try to play an unofficial solo variant of a game. Do some research on the games you have at Boardgamegeek. Check out the Forums (the variants section of the forums specifically) or the Files section of your games. You might find a new way of playing them! Or, see if you can find/develop an unofficial solo mode of a multiplayer game. Source: over 2 years ago
