Taakly is a work management platform built for freelancers and independent consultants. Most tools are accounting software that added time tracking as an afterthought. Taakly works the other way around, it's built around how freelancers actually work, and adds invoicing on top.
You get a native timer with timesheet view, professional invoices delivered via email or client portal, retainer management with visual consumption tracking so you never over-deliver, client health scoring, unbilled hours alerts, and integrations with Trello, Asana and Notion.
There's also a Chrome extension for tracking time from anywhere, team and subcontractor collaboration, and the app runs in Dutch, English and Spanish.
Flat โฌ9/month. No variable fees. 14-day free trial, no credit card needed.

Taakly's answer
Taakly was built around one idea: a freelancer should never need more than one tool to run their business. Time tracking, invoicing, client management, retainers, team collaboration and health monitoring, everything lives in one place, designed to work together from day one.
On top of that, Taakly is the only tool with a dedicated retainer management module. You can see exactly how many hours are consumed per contract in real time, so you never over-deliver or forget to invoice. Most tools treat retainers as just another invoice, Taakly treats them as the ongoing relationships they actually are.
Taakly's answer
Most alternatives are accounting tools that bolted on time tracking. Taakly starts from the work itself, tracking time, managing clients, handling retainers and adds invoicing on top. The result is a tool that feels natural to use every day, not just at the end of the month when you need to bill someone.
Taakly's answer
Independent freelancers and consultants who bill by the hour or manage retainer contracts. Designers, developers, marketers and consultants who want one place for their work without paying for a full accounting suite they don't need.
Taakly's answer
Taakly was built by a small team that got frustrated watching freelancers juggle three different tools just to track time, send an invoice and know if a client relationship was healthy. We launched in March 2026 and have been building in public since day one.
Taakly's answer
React, Tailwind CSS, Supabase, Stripe. The app runs entirely in the browser with a PostgreSQL backend. Payments via iDEAL and SEPA for European users.
Based on our record, CheepCode seems to be more popular. It has been mentiond 1 time since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
If you like that workflow you might love CheepCode[0] which I built specifically to support it! CheepCode connects to Linear and works on tickets as they roll in, submitting PRs to GitHub. [0] https://cheepcode.com. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
