Swatcher is a paint colour catalogue for Ireland with the one thing brands never publish: the cross-references. More than 10,000 real colours from 14 brands sold in Ireland are stored in the same perceptual colour space, so every paint page shows its closest match in every other brand, with an honest label for how close it really is. It also shows how any colour on the walls of a rendered room in daylight or lamplight matches a colour from your phone camera, and previews a paint on your own wall through that camera. No stock photos, no invented shades: everything resolves to a paint you can actually buy.

Swatcher is independent and sits across all of them, so a shortlist that started as a Farrow & Ball card can end as a Dulux tin. The matching uses the CIEDE2000 colour-difference standard rather than a rough RGB distance, and it tells you plainly when a brand has nothing close instead of calling a different colour an "alternative". Two whole ranges can be compared side by side. The catalogue, matching, camera and visualiser are free. An account adds favourites, palettes and projects on top.

It started with the question decorators, painters and people doing up a room actually ask: "What is this colour in a brand I can get?" Brands publish their own ranges, but nobody publishes the equivalents between them, so the answer was a paint shop counter and a guess. Swatcher was built to store every colour from every brand sold in Ireland in one perceptual colour space and do the comparison properly- one closest paint per brand- then grew a room visualiser, camera matching and palette tools around that core.
