Its MIT-licensed core runs against your own database and resolves feature access, values, limits, and customer overrides locally. The free engine is complete on its own; the optional self-hosted Web Admin adds a ready-made management UI and REST API with a one-time commercial license.

The MIT-licensed engine lets you inspect and extend the code, while the optional Web Admin can save the work of building an internal management interface. Founder Jasen Fici created Subscrio from a problem he repeatedly encountered while building subscription products: billing records what a customer bought, but the application still needs a reliable way to decide what the customer can use. Subscrio keeps those entitlement decisions inside the application. Its optional Web Admin provides a ready-made workflow for managing the catalog, customer subscriptions, and exceptions. Jasen previously co-founded Velaro and founded StatusCast.

The open-source engine is available as native C#/.NET and TypeScript libraries, distributed through NuGet (Subscrio.Core) and npm (subscrio). The .NET library supports PostgreSQL and SQL Server, and the TypeScript library supports PostgreSQL. Both share the same entitlement model and run with the application's own database. The optional self-hosted Web Admin exposes a management interface and REST API.
