i've been building this over the last two weeks, it first started as a reader for standard ebooks (https://standardebooks.org/), with clean typography, progress tracking, and nice deep linking (try clicking on a paragraph to create a mark and copy it to your clipboard) but I think I really unlocked something when I discovered the amazing recordings on https://librivox.org, I've been spending the last few days... - Source: Hacker News / 21 days ago
Shoutout to https://standardebooks.org/, amazingly formatted classics. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
As others here have mentioned, https://standardebooks.org/ is excellent and my understanding is that they use Gutenberg books as a source for theirs but done up much nicer. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
I've used https://standardebooks.org/ to pull nicely formatted Project Gutenberg books on any e-reader that supports a browser (in my case, Boox). Technically, I can also just directly pull the epub from Project Gutenberg, but sometimes the formatting leaves a lot to be desired. I finally, after a couple of years off, picked up work on a Standard Ebooks[1] edition of The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night. I made a new yearsโ promise to myself to get it as done as possible by the end of the year. If it doesnโt happen Iโm not going to be too hard on myself though, given the 5K endnotes and 1.5M overall word count. But weโll see! CloudStack is cloud computing software for creating, managing, and deploying public as well as private IaaS clouds. It uses several hypervisors such as KVM, vSphere, and XenServer/XCP for virtualization. The big providers like AWS, GCP, Azure, all have fully custom solutions for the whole infrastructure. But there exist a number of open source projects which give you the ability to setup the basics (compute, storage, networking) on your own. A few such infrastructure projects I'm aware of: * Cloudstack * Openstack * Eucalyptus. Source: over 4 years ago
