CutBench turns the long gaming streams you already record into ranked, ready-to-post short-form clips โ€” locally, on your own Windows PC.

Drop a 3-hour Twitch VOD and get back 10โ€“15 vertical clips with burned-in subtitles, sorted by how likely each is to perform on TikTok and YouTube Shorts. Your GPU does the work, and your footage never leaves your computer.

Why it's different - Local, not cloud โ€” nothing is uploaded; your stream stays private on your machine - One-time purchase โ€” buy once, clip forever. No subscription, no usage or compute caps - Ranked by virality โ€” clips come sorted so you post your best moments first - Made for gaming โ€” built for Twitch VODs and gameplay, not generic marketing footage

What it does - Detects highlights across long sessions - Reframes 16:9 gameplay to vertical 9:16, keeping the action centered - Adds automatic captions in several styles - Writes a description and hashtags per clip - Auto-posts to YouTube Shorts and drafts to TikTok

Pricing A free watermarked demo is available. The full version is a one-time purchase on Steam โ€” no keys, no per-device limits.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing StackBlitz and CutBench.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

CutBench's answer:

Cloud tools like Opus Clip or Eklipse upload your footage and charge a recurring subscription with monthly limits. CutBench does the same job โ€” long video into ranked vertical clips with captions โ€” but locally on your GPU, as a one-time purchase, with no upload step and no caps. Choose it if you want privacy, no subscription, and unlimited clipping of your own gameplay. If you need a browser-based or mobile tool, a cloud service may suit you better.

What makes your product unique?

CutBench's answer:

It runs entirely on your own Windows PC โ€” nothing is uploaded. Drop a full gaming session or Twitch VOD and get back short vertical clips already ranked by how likely each is to perform, with subtitles burned in. Most clip tools are cloud services with monthly fees; CutBench is a one-time local app that keeps your footage private, with no usage or compute caps.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

CutBench's answer:

Gamers and streamers on Windows who already record long sessions and want to grow on TikTok and YouTube Shorts without becoming video editors. Built for Twitch VODs and gameplay โ€” the streamer with no energy to cut ten clips after a long stream, and the gamer sitting on hours of footage they've never posted.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

CutBench's answer:

CutBench is a native Windows desktop application. All analysis and rendering run locally on the user's GPU (CUDA) โ€” on-device speech, audio and vision analysis paired with local video processing. No cloud services or external APIs are used at runtime, so footage never leaves the machine.

What's the story behind your product?

CutBench's answer:

CutBench started from a simple observation: gamers produce hours of great footage, but almost none of it gets posted โ€” editing is a skill, a time sink, and usually another subscription. So the idea was a tool that turns the gameplay you already record into ready-to-post clips on your own machine, with no cloud, no monthly fee, and no editing skills needed. Post and grow instead of editing.

  1. Has almost everything I need

I've started using this as my main IDE for new projects when I'm trying things out. If it keeps getting better at the rate it has been, it'll be even better than coding locally.

  • RS-X: Framework-agnostic reactive state and expressions for JavaScript/TS
Managing reactive state and dependent computations in JavaScript can get complex, especially when combining asynchronous and synchronous data. RS-X is a library that allows you to bind expressions to plain objects and makes the parts of the model used by those expressions fully reactive. Dependent computations automatically update when the underlying data changes. RS-X is framework-agnostic. While it can drive UI... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • Show HN: I combine Htmx, LiveView and SolidJS for interactive server components
I like htmx, LiveView, React and Solid. They are great at different points, so I try to combine them in Solv (Stateless Offline-capable LiveView) and write a prototype to show the benefits. Solv's main idea is that stateless servers keep client's state in a volatile cache. It enables server components that are also interactive, which is best of both worlds between LiveView and htmx. I like htmx, LiveView, React and Solid. They are great at different points, and this is a prototype trying to combine them. Solv's main idea is that stateless servers keep client's state in a volatile cache. It enables server components that are also interactive, which is best of both worlds between LiveView and htmx.
