So, I reviewed the questions list again but this time, since the time I did view it about 9 hours ago [1]. 10 were negative scored, 5 positive scored, 15 0 scored, 4 has received answers. This is better than normal for those ~30. Usually it's 80% without votes, without answers, without comments. So, this is a significan improvement... Which I suspect is due the time of the day, as the US and most of Europe were... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
It's surely both. Look at the newest questions: https://stackoverflow.com/questions?tab=Newest Most questions have negative karma. Even if somehow that is "deserved", that's not a healthy ecosystem. All that is left of SI are clueless questioners and bitter, jaded responders. SO worked when "everyone" was new to it, and they felt energized to ask questions ( even "basic" questions, because they hadn't been asked... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago

I believe that .de domains are pretty cool (written another comment about it) but .de are $3.25 for registration and .de is the second most common after .com so from webatla, I see approx 16 million domains. I don't think that they could ban emails from .de for what its worth. Personally I like .in domains too. Makes more sense to me because I am well Indian and we all use it quite frequently/sort of intutitively... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
Https://tld-list.com/ Try looking at this website with cheapest renewal rate and removing second country TLD (so only Top level) In my opinion, .de , .ovh , .uk or personally my country's .in (yes OVH has their own TLD that you can use) .de is one of the more interesting domains to me personally even though I am not german. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
A combination of good pricing, sane behavior and an offering with many TLDs right now is https://www.netim.com, based in France. Their UI is quite outdated, but it works ok. I've switched here after leaving Gandi. If you're fine with a US-based provider, https://porkbun.com/ also has good pricing and a tech oriented mindset. They don't support many ccTLDs though. In general, https://tld-list.com/ is the best place... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
Https://tld-list.com is the the place to go when needing a domain (although at this very moment it seems their availability check is down). Be sure to sort by "Cheapest Renewal" once you've selected the domain you'd like. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
Here is a site that lists prices and renewals. It is not a comprehensive list, but it is a long list. https://tld-list.com/ Renewals is where many registrars 'get' you. Prices can jump considerably. I have had domains from many providers, the only one which ripped me off via 'dark patterns' was GoDaddy, which cost me $400 for a one year one page website and domain name. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
