In my own case, I struggled for over a decade, to get anywhere at all useful with Spanish, until someone in this forum recommended readlang.com. I can't speak for anyone else, but for myself: just reading entire stories, as fast as I could, without stopping AT ALL when I ran into an unknown word, or tense, or idiom, made THE critical difference.
