  • 1k Data Breaches Later, the Disclosure Lag Is Worse
I use Snusbase (https://snusbase.com). They've been around since around 2016 and haven't had any issues legally - they're the longest-standing data breach search engine besides HIBP, as far as I know. (This is not an advertisement.). - Source: Hacker News / 28 days ago
  • Please explain to me how the law treats websites that allow their users to search for stolen information.
Hello, I have a question about sites like DeHashed.com, snusbase.com and intelx.io. Source: over 3 years ago
  • concerned about legality of sharing breach data on the internet
So if that is true, how could I go to the sites like https://intelx.io , https://dehashed.com/ ,https://snusbase.com/ and type email address that has been in a breach and obtain possible password and username sometimes for free, and sometimes for a couple of bucks? If what the OP of the linked post says is true. These platforms should not be legal, or am I missing something? Source: over 4 years ago
  • Where are data breaches deposited/available from?
Usually it depends on where it will end up, you'll have to look through multiple different companies that pay to collect this information. Haveibeenpwned is a really great indicator to see the basics of where your information has been leaked through, but depending on the breach I'd recommend http://snusbase.com to get more details about what was contained in those databases. • Sen. Katie Britt to Pentagon boss: โ€˜Cut through the politics,โ€™ move Space Command to Alabama
Okay. So DoD is comprised of military departments. The Armed Forces are comprised of military departments. They are all the same organizations. Colloquially, most people accept the use of the word "branch" to describe a segment of this community, up to and including the usa.gov website, the USO, military.com, etc. But if it makes you feel righteous, we can insist that here, within this sub, within this... Like I said, if you only allow USGS employees to make accounts on the USGS instance, then there is no moderation needed. Such a theoretical USGS instance would not repost or broadcast external content without someone on the USGS instance explicitly reposting or boosting. It's like making your own website. usa.gov doesn't worry about moderating content from bigdicks dot info because that content will never show up... Source: about 3 years ago
