It is fine to use a private email in this way. However, you might want to get your own domain just because it looks more professional. I have a domain set up through siteground.com that's my first initial and last name (e.g., bsmith for Bob Smithโobviously anonymized). My email address is [me@bsmith.com](mailto:me@bsmith.com).
