Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing SimplePractice and plan2meal.

What makes your product unique?

plan2meal's answer:

Most meal planning apps either overload you with features you donโ€™t need or lock everything behind a paywall. Plan2Meal is differentโ€”itโ€™s built by someone who actually needed a simple way to organize meals, save recipes, and generate shopping lists without the usual clutter. No AI bloat, no unnecessary social featuresโ€”just a straightforward tool that works.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

plan2meal's answer:

If youโ€™re tired of apps that feel like they were designed by a big company that never actually cooks, Plan2Meal is for you. Itโ€™s fast, intuitive, and doesnโ€™t force you into a rigid system. Plus, I actually listen to usersโ€”Iโ€™m an indie founder, not a corporation. If you need a feature or have feedback, I read every message and improve the app accordingly.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

plan2meal's answer:

Right now, itโ€™s people who just want to eat better without overcomplicating thingsโ€”busy professionals, parents, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone who struggles with meal planning but doesnโ€™t want to spend hours on it. I also see a lot of interest from people who just want a clean, simple recipe organizer that isnโ€™t trying to sell them a diet plan or track their macros 24/7.

What's the story behind your product?

plan2meal's answer:

Honestly, I built it for myself first. I was constantly juggling meal ideas, struggling to keep track of ingredients, and frustrated by existing apps that were either too complex or too restrictive. So, I coded a basic version that solved my own problem. Turns out, a lot of people had the same problem. Thatโ€™s when I decided to turn it into a real product and share it with others. Itโ€™s still a lean, indie project, but that means itโ€™s focused, personal, and built with care.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

plan2meal's answer:

Plan2Meal is built with Next.js 15 (App Router) for the frontend, Payloadcms with Supabase for the backend, and itโ€™s hosted on Hetzner for performance and reliability. I also use PostHog for analytics and Ahrefs/Semrush for SEO to help people discover the site. Itโ€™s a modern stack but optimized for speed and usabilityโ€”because no one wants a slow meal planner.
