I'd recommend against Handbrake. Handbrake is awesome if you need to make H.264 or H.265, but that compounds generation loss going from very lossy to very lossy. I'd strongly recommend using Shutter Encoder to make ProRes or DNxHR instead. It's based on ffmpeg, which is a big part of the underlying functionality of Handbrake too. My first program I've used for the past 6 years+ is MediaCoder (https://mediacoderhq.com/). I purchased a MediaCoder Pass. This app can be used as a simplified ffmpeg interface allowing full task offload to an eligible Nvidia graphics card. In simple terms it keeps the decoding & Re-encoding all on your graphic card without taxing your CPU. I've found that setting the bitrate to H.265 @ 50% via percentage yields...
