assertpy features and specs

  • Fluent API
Assertpy offers a fluent API that makes assertions more readable and expressive, enabling developers to write assertions in a natural language style that is easy to understand.
  • Chainable Assertions
It allows for chainable assertions, enabling multiple checks to be performed in a single line of code, thereby reducing verbosity and enhancing clarity.
  • Comprehensive Assertion Methods
The library provides a wide range of built-in assertion methods, catering to various types of data validations, such as checking for size, type, value, and more.
  • Extensibility
Assertpy supports extending its functionality by defining custom assertions, allowing developers to tailor it to their specific needs.
  • Pythonic
Designed with Pythonic principles in mind, Assertpy fits seamlessly into Python projects, enabling idiomatic and consistent code style.

Possible disadvantages of assertpy

  • Learning Curve
Developers new to the library may encounter a learning curve due to the distinct approach of using fluent and chainable assertions as opposed to traditional methods.
  • Limited by Python Version
The library may have limitations in terms of compatibility with older versions of Python, requiring users to ensure their environment is up-to-date.
  • Performance Overhead
The additional abstraction layer introduced by a fluent interface might introduce some performance overhead, especially in performance-critical or resource-constrained environments.
  • Less Community Support
Compared to more established testing libraries, Assertpy might have less community support and fewer resources available for resolving issues or getting help.
  • Dependency Management
Using a third-party library introduces additional dependencies to manage, which could complicate project maintenance and compatibility.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing SezgiX and assertpy.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

SezgiX's answer

  • Next.js (React, TypeScript) โ€” full-stack web app
  • Tailwind CSS โ€” UI
  • Prisma + MySQL โ€” data layer
  • Redis โ€” real-time rate limiting & caching
  • USDC on EVM chains (ethers / wagmi) โ€” deposits & payouts
  • Cloudflare โ€” CDN, security & edge protection
  • PWA โ€” installable mobile app experience

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

SezgiX's answer

SezgiX is a consumer platform used by individual retail traders worldwide, not enterprise clients.

What makes your product unique?

SezgiX's answer

SezgiX is a borderless prediction market: anyone can trade on real-world outcomes with USDC, with no KYC and zero commission. What sets it apart:

  • Two market types in one platform โ€” fast 1โ€“30 minute crypto/stock price-direction rounds for instant action, plus long-term event markets (elections, Fed decisions, sports, Nobel Prize).
  • Truly global โ€” 6-language interface (EN, TR, DE, FR, IT, RU), USDC-only, accessible without geo-blocks.
  • No house edge games โ€” outcomes settle from real market data and verifiable sources, not a casino RNG.
  • Instant settlement โ€” winnings credit the moment a round or market resolves.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

SezgiX's answer

  • No KYC โ€” start trading in 30 seconds; competitors like Kalshi require full identity verification.
  • 0% commission โ€” you keep your full payout; many platforms take a spread or fee.
  • Borderless access โ€” not US-only or geo-restricted like Polymarket/Kalshi.
  • Short-term rounds โ€” 1โ€“30 minute Bitcoin/stock direction markets that most prediction platforms don't offer.
  • $10 free to start โ€” a demo balance lets new users learn risk-free before depositing.
  • USDC stablecoin โ€” no volatile token, no wallet lock-in.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

SezgiX's answer

Globally-minded retail traders and prediction-market enthusiasts aged 20โ€“45 who:

  • Already follow crypto, stocks, politics or sports and want to turn opinions into positions.
  • Are frustrated by KYC walls and geo-blocks on Polymarket and Kalshi.
  • Prefer fast, low-friction trading (short rounds) alongside long-term event bets.
  • Are comfortable with stablecoins (USDC) and self-custody wallets.
  • Span multiple regions โ€” Europe, MENA, Latin America, Asia โ€” hence the 6-language UI.

What's the story behind your product?

SezgiX's answer

SezgiX was built to fix what's broken about prediction markets: they're walled off. Polymarket blocks the US; Kalshi demands full KYC; most platforms are single-language and region-locked. We wanted a market that anyone, anywhere could use to price the future โ€” in their own language, with a stablecoin, without handing over a passport. So we built a borderless platform combining fast crypto/stock rounds with long-term event markets, settled transparently from real data, with zero commission and a $10 welcome balance so newcomers can learn before they risk anything.
