As answered by people managing ScreenRun and Pingvera.
ScreenRun's answer
ScreenRun is used by product teams and designers that want to share engaging videos of their apps or screens to colleagues, followers or clients.
Pingvera's answer:
Pingvera is primarily built for web studios, digital agencies, WordPress maintenance providers, managed service teams, and independent developers responsible for multiple client websites.
The ideal user manages a portfolio rather than a single URL, sells recurring website maintenance or care plans, and wants to discover failures before the client reports them. They need more than uptime: form and checkout monitoring, domain and SSL expiry alerts, search-indexing and redirect checks, WordPress or server context, and client-facing proof of the work performed.
Pingvera is especially useful for teams maintaining roughly 5 to 500 websites across different CMS platforms, hosting providers, and regions.
ScreenRun's answer
Many screen recording apps are either too simple (just record your screen) or complex, and none of them offered a way to quickly create engaging screen recordings by placing a few points over images or video clips to zoom and engage the person watching.
Pingvera's answer:
Pingvera grew from a recurring problem in website maintenance: traditional uptime monitoring could show a green dashboard while the client’s website was already failing as a business.
A site might still load while its contact form drops every lead, its checkout stops accepting orders, a production page carries noindex, mobile visitors are redirected elsewhere, or a domain approaches expiry. In many cases, the client notices first—and the agency is forced into reactive firefighting.
Pingvera was built around the opposite experience: the agency should receive a clear, confirmed signal first, understand what is affected, fix the issue calmly, and show the client what was done. That idea shaped the product’s deeper external checks, optional inside-out diagnostics, low-noise alerting, white-label reports, and branded status pages.
The guiding promise remains: know about problems on a client’s site before the client does.
ScreenRun's answer
Everything is web-based using modern browser APIs for video encoding and decoding. ScreenRun also uses AI from OpenAI to create automatic transcripts from your audio and video assets. But everything runs in your browser, no cloud involved for total privacy.
Pingvera's answer:
Pingvera’s backend is built as a Go monolith, with PostgreSQL for core application data and ClickHouse for monitoring telemetry and uptime history. Nginx sits in front of the HTTP services.
The monitoring platform uses distributed regional probes and standard web and network protocols, including HTTP, TCP, DNS, and TLS. Integrations are exposed through a REST API with an OpenAPI specification and a read-only MCP endpoint implemented over JSON-RPC.
Optional lightweight server agents report CPU, memory, disk, network, and container metrics using outbound-only connections. The WordPress connector follows the same outbound-only design, so Pingvera does not require inbound ports or remote command execution on a client’s infrastructure.
ScreenRun's answer
Entirely web-based video creation too with zooms, webcam and automatic captions. And unlike many web-based products, ScreenRun runs entirely inside your web browser without sending any data to a server. This aspect is critical for total privacy in work contexts.
Pingvera's answer:
Pingvera is client website monitoring built around a simple idea: a website can be online and still be broken for the business.
Instead of stopping at uptime, Pingvera checks the outcomes that web agencies and their clients care about: real form delivery, checkout and critical-page behavior, expected content, suspicious redirects, accidental noindex, broken links, domain and SSL expiry, WordPress health, and optional server metrics.
External checks run from multiple regions, and failures are confirmed before an alert is sent. This helps reduce false alarms while exposing problems that a single-location uptime monitor can miss.
Pingvera also turns monitoring data into agency-ready deliverables: white-label client reports, branded status pages on custom domains, incident history, and alerts through Slack, Telegram, Discord, email, or webhooks. A REST API, OpenAPI specification, and read-only MCP server make the same monitoring data available to integrations and AI assistants.
ScreenRun's answer
ScreenRun is so simple to use! And because it's web-based, you can access it from anywhere, including iPhone or Android.
Pingvera's answer:
Choose Pingvera when you need to know whether a website is actually working for the client, not only whether the server returns 200 OK.
Pingvera combines technology-independent, outside-in website monitoring with optional WordPress and server context. It can detect failures that basic uptime tools and maintenance dashboards may overlook, including forms that stop delivering leads, broken checkout paths, unexpected cross-domain redirects, accidental search de-indexing, expiring domains and certificates, and regional availability problems.
For agencies, the operational layer matters just as much: confirmed multi-region alerts reduce noise, portfolio views keep client sites together, and white-label reports and status pages show the value of a maintenance retainer.
Pingvera does not try to replace WordPress backup or update-management products. It can work alongside them as an independent verification layer that checks the public result after maintenance. The free plan supports up to 5 sites, while paid plans scale to portfolios of 50 or 500 sites.
