Rounds is a clinical-reasoning simulator for medical students who want to practise the decisions between reading a case and handing over a patient. Each simulation begins with a fictional AI patient. Students ask questions in free text, perform focused examinations, order investigations, commit to a diagnosis, choose a disposition and build a management handover.

The scorecard reviews the recorded reasoning path, including important questions, examinations, investigations and management decisions that were missed. One complete guest case is free and opens without signup.

Rounds is an educational simulation, not an exam-preparation question bank or clinical decision-support tool. Its patients are fictional. It is not medical advice and must not be used for real-patient diagnosis or management.

Rounds Clinical features and specs

  • Structured Clinical Rotation Support
Rounds Clinical appears designed to help medical students and healthcare trainees organize and manage their clinical rotations, providing structure that can reduce administrative burden during busy training periods.
  • Centralized Platform
The platform aims to consolidate clinical rotation information, scheduling, and resources into one place, potentially saving time compared to using multiple disparate tools or paper-based systems.
  • Targeted for Medical Education Niche
By focusing specifically on clinical rotations for medical trainees, the platform can offer more tailored features and workflows compared to generic scheduling or education tools.
  • Potential for Improved Organization
Users who struggle with tracking multiple rotation sites, preceptors, and requirements may benefit from a dedicated tool that helps them stay organized throughout their training.
  • Mobile Accessibility
If the platform offers mobile access, this could be valuable for medical students and residents who need to check schedules or information while on the go between clinical sites.

Possible disadvantages of Rounds Clinical

  • Limited Public Information
There is relatively little detailed, independent information available about Rounds Clinical's specific features, user reviews, or track record, making it difficult to fully assess its effectiveness and reliability.
  • Uncertain Adoption and Integration
It's unclear how widely adopted this platform is among medical schools or residency programs, and whether it integrates well with existing institutional systems like EHRs or scheduling software already in use.
  • Potential Learning Curve
As with any specialized software, users may face a learning curve when first adopting the platform, especially if they are already accustomed to other systems or paper-based methods.
  • Subscription or Cost Considerations
Depending on the pricing model, cost could be a barrier for students or institutions, especially if the value proposition compared to free or already-licensed alternatives isn't clearly demonstrated.
  • Dependency on Platform Uptime
Relying on a third-party platform for critical clinical scheduling information introduces risk if the service experiences downtime, bugs, or discontinuation, which could disrupt access to important rotation details.

  • Customer Support
While support is available, there may be limitations in response time or availability, which can be challenging for businesses in urgent need of assistance.
