Analysis of GitHub Follow Bot

Overall verdict

  • GitHub Follow Bot services that automate following users to gain followers are generally not recommended, as they violate GitHub's Terms of Service and can lead to account suspension while providing little genuine value.

Why this product is good

  • Automated following can violate GitHub's Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policies, risking account restriction or permanent ban
  • Followers gained through bots are typically low-quality and not genuinely interested in your work or projects
  • Real professional reputation on GitHub comes from meaningful contributions, quality repositories, and authentic community engagement
  • Bots can compromise your account security if they require access tokens or credentials
  • Inflated follower counts can damage your credibility with recruiters and collaborators who value authentic activity

Recommended for

  • No legitimate use case is genuinely recommended, as authentic engagement is far more valuable
  • Those seeking to grow their GitHub presence should instead focus on open-source contributions, documentation, and networking
  • Developers wanting visibility are better served by writing quality code and engaging honestly with the community

Ritual Reviews

Top Six in The 6: Food Delivery Apps
A bit of a twist from the other apps, Ritual focuses on simplifying pick-up orders rather than delivery. This app lets you order and pay for food and drinks from partner restaurants before you even walk through the door. Their โ€œpiggybackโ€ option lets you add orders from the same location onto your coworkerโ€™s, so you can select and pay for your own lunch while having someone...

Donโ€™t Pass on Snackpass
I was initially confused how the product was gaining so much traction so quickly. It sounded very similar to Ritual โ€” another social network oriented meal ordering app founded in 2014 (3 years before Snackpass was founded). Ritual has raised a LOT of money (>$100M) and it seemed infeasible for Snackpass to compete.

As food delivery booms, the office lunch run gets an app
Consumers pay the same price they would without the app, while Ritual โ€” not to be confused with another San Francisco company, Ritual Coffee Roasters โ€” receives a commission from the restaurants. It provides them with a tablet to handle the orders separately.

  • Headless Multi Vendor Marketplace API
I am trying to build an app that is similar to https://ritual.co. It is essentially a food ordering app that only focuses on takeaway (so no delivery!). Source: over 3 years ago
  • New in town, gimme your best apps!
Ritual. Order your food ahead of time, then go pick it up! Usually the same cost as if you went and ordered in person, but skip the waiting time. Source: about 4 years ago
  • Home dining - best takeout options
Firstly, if you don't have an app called Ritual, I'd recommend you download that. It basically functions as a takeout-only app, where you place an order in advance and it will tell you when to show up to pick up your food. The nice thing about Ritual is that in comparison to other apps that offer pickup/takeout (e.g. UberEats), there are no massive markups on the menu items. Back in the heyday of UberEats, they...
