    The easy thing to change here is software that interfaces to the USB dongle and does stuff on the PC. This also requires some reverse-engineering. I think it would be best to create a driver to make the remote work with https://winlirc.sourceforge.net/ or other similar flexible software which supports multiple remotes. Source: over 3 years ago
