It is a local-first overlay app that runs on the creator's own machine, keeps their data private, stays fast, and treats the individual creator as the customer worth winning. The goal is a tool that feels premium and genuinely fun to use, stays honest about what it does and does not do yet, and gives small creators the kind of interactive, polished stream that used to require money, a team, or both.

It uses a local SQLite database to store its gift catalog and creator data on the machine. Overlays are standard web pages, built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, delivered as OBS browser sources. Premium billing runs on Stripe using Checkout and the Billing Portal, and music features use the Spotify API over OAuth. The marketing site is built with Astro. Bubbly currently runs on Windows 10 and 11.
