I get that Flash hit a sweet spot. I'm not sure I get why nothing has really replaced it. There are other apps that give you animated vector graphics, in an IDE, with coding. Motion design can be done through plenty of softwares. Blender, Cavalry, Davinci Resolve โฆ to name a few. But the market monopoly stands with After Effects (AE). AE is irreplaceable. People will talk about all the alternatives, including free and open-source alternatives, but none come close. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
You may want to edit your list to remove Figma since the Adobe acquisition is no longer happening :) And perhaps a combination of https://cavalry.scenegroup.co and https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/fusion could be After Effects alternatives. I haven't made the switch yet due to the number of AE plugins I own, but perhaps this most recent Adobe gaffe will do it for me. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
