QuickTools.one's answer
QuickTools.one is a collection of browser-based tools that run entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or tracked. Every task, merging PDFs, resizing images, converting files, happens locally in your browser. This privacy-first approach sets it apart from other “free” tools that rely on servers or data collection.
MaxCut's answer:
At MaxCut, we stand out by hyper-focusing on making complex cutlist tasks simple for our target audience. We cater specifically for small businesses in cabinetry and joinery and offer a remarkably capable free edition that covers the most important optimization needs without excessively pressuring users to upgrade. We've taken a targeted, opinionated approach to building MaxCut, focussing on what a small cabinerty and joinery business will need. This keeps MaxCut straightforward and easy to use for that audience.

QuickTools.one's answer
QuickTools.one is a free public platform used by: • Freelancers and students managing daily document tasks • Small businesses that need quick PDF and image tools • Privacy-conscious users who prefer local, offline-style utilities
(QuickTools.one does not track or identify users, so exact organizations are not recorded.)
MaxCut's answer:
While we do serve larger clients with multiple licenses, our real pride lies in the tens of thousands of active small to medium-sized businesses around the globe that use MaxCut every day. They’re the heart of our community and the driving force behind our commitment to making professional cutlist optimization accessible and user-friendly for all.
QuickTools.one's answer
QuickTools.one started from frustration with “free” PDF and image tools that weren’t truly free or private. The goal was to build a clean, modern alternative: fast utilities that just work inside your browser. It began with a PDF merger and expanded into a growing set of privacy-first everyday tools.
MaxCut's answer:
After spending over a decade in a previous business building complex software that required months to set up and years to master, the founders of MaxCut decided never again! That decision gave birth to MaxCut. Driven by talented software engineers passionate about creating a software product that’s incredibly quick and simple to set up (you can do it in minutes), easy to use, and immediately valuable. MaxCut is our passion project. We’re continually evolving MaxCut to meet the real-world needs of small and medium-sized businesses in the cabinetry and joinery industry. Keeping things simple and easy to use.
QuickTools.one's answer
Because it’s fast, private, and honest. Most online utilities upload your files to the cloud, add watermarks, or limit free use. QuickTools.one skips all that. It’s completely free, watermark-free, and processes everything locally. You get instant results, no waiting, no tracking, and full control of your files.
MaxCut's answer:

Great Value for Money: The savings in material and time you’ll gain from MaxCut significantly outweigh the cost of the software.
QuickTools.one's answer
QuickTools.one is built with Next.js and TypeScript, using WebAssembly for local file processing and the Canvas API for image manipulation. It’s deployed on Vercel for high performance and global CDN caching. All tools run entirely in the browser with no backend file storage.
Most online PDF and image tools require you to upload your files to a server. That always felt unnecessary (and a bit risky), especially for documents like contracts, invoices, IDs, or photos. So I built QuickTools.one with a different approach: everything runs entirely in your browser.
There are no uploads, no storage, and no tracking of the files you work with. The tools use JavaScript and WebAssembly to merge PDFs, compress them, split them, resize images, or convert files locally on your device. This makes the tools both faster and more private than traditional online converters.
QuickTools.one includes: • Merge PDF • Compress PDF • Split PDF • Image Resize • Image to PDF • More tools coming soon
The site is free to use, does not require an account, and doesn’t add watermarks. I’m actively improving the tools based on user feedback, and I’ll continue adding new browser-based utilities over time.
If privacy and speed matter to you, you might find these tools useful, and I’m always open to suggestions for new features.
