Hello, I have a Minecraft server running on a Rpi with Paper. It works great and I use it to play with some of my friends. However, the server's public IP address often changes, meaning that I have to give my friends the new IP address daily. Being a programmer, I feel this could be automated. My question is about science crowd competition sites such as spaceappschallenge.org , xprize.com or innocentive.com . These organizations are trying to develop new organizational models for science, and I think the initiative to include the general public is great. I was a solver on a different team for the netflix challenge. Our team didn't win the grand prize. I would have expected that a blog post to discuss how this was structured. Netflix contracted with innocentive [1], which is a website for solvers, and contracting to that website expanded Netflix's reach to the available pool of solvers.
