ProjectLibreProjectLibre is recommended for small to medium-sized businesses, educational institutions, and freelance project managers who need a comprehensive project management solution without the associated costs of premium software. It's also a great fit for teams that prefer or require open-source software solutions.
Microsoft Project is recommended for medium to large organizations, project managers, and teams managing complex projects that require detailed planning, scheduling, and resource management. It is particularly suitable for users who prefer a software that integrates well with other Microsoft tools and services.
I have many Microsoft Project files but use a Mac. I switched to ProjectLibre and simply opened all my project files in ProjectLibre and kept working. The Gantt Chart, Network Diagram, WBS chart along with advanced features like Earned Value costing all work identical to MS Project.
