How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Callulu's answer:

People who spend long stretches alone at a Mac and want something on the screen to mark the parts of the day: getting started, settling into a task, stepping back, and stopping at a reasonable hour.

It also suits people on older hardware, since it runs on macOS 13 and on Intel as well as Apple silicon.

One caution: the opening cue is a brief flash across the whole screen, and several cues change display brightness. Anyone sensitive to flashing light should leave that cue switched off.

What makes your product unique?

Callulu's answer:

LIGHTNING starts the work, SHADE is for focus, LUNA closes the day, and five more sit in between. You pick a cue, and it shows on the screen for a moment or for as long as you leave it on.

Drawing a cue needs no Accessibility or Input Monitoring permission. Settings stay on the Mac.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Callulu's answer:

Choose it if you want a cue on the screen rather than a timer. Dimming tools hold one state over the screen for as long as they run, and timer apps count sessions. Callulu has eight cues for different moments of a workday, and you turn each one on when you need it.

It runs on macOS 13 and later, on Apple silicon and Intel. Cues can be started from Shortcuts, Raycast or a terminal command through a callulu:// link. The direct download is $14.99 once and adds keyboard shortcuts; the Mac App Store edition is free for 14 days, then $3.99 once.

If you want blocking or time tracking, one of its competitors will serve you better.

What's the story behind your product?

Callulu's answer:

Before I knew it, I could no longer control myself, and each time it happened I felt regret and a sense of inferiority.

"Lately, this might be getting a little out of hand."

A small worry like that is why I decided to make an app for staying myself.

Callulu came out as a direct download on 3 September 2026. The Mac App Store edition followed ten days later, on 13 September.
