Reading this makes me want to fire up Processing [1] again. I remember spending hours and days with it in my early twenties. The immediacy of writing a few simple commands, hitting "Run" and seeing graphical output is still unsurpassed and created an almost addictive creative feedback loop that I haven't seen anywhere else yet. I built a visual editor in Processing (a Java tool for people who like making things look cool), so I could easily map out the store and export the resulting graph. - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago
As an autodidact who never learned this stuff at school/uni, his lectures are what made linear algebra really click for me. I can only recommend them to anyone who wants to get a visual intuition on the fundamentals of LA. What also helped me as a visual learner was to program/setup tiny experiments in Processing[1] and GeoGebra Classic[2]. - [1] https://processing.org. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago

I have been following HyperCard clones for years. It would take me some time to gather what I found, but the short answer is to download a Mac OS 9 emulator (it works) and load up HyperCard 2.4.1 and have fun. Emulators page with links to versions for MacOS and Windows. https://mendelson.org/emulators.html Hypercard 2.4.1 is available at the Macintosh Repository... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
You should check out MagicaCSG, which is a more sophisticated version (though still free!) of this: https://ephtracy.github.io/index.html?page=magicacsg#ss-carousel_ss. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
The two best SDF modelers in existence are MagicaCSG[1] and Adobe Substance Modeler[2]. There are also a few others, like Womp, but those two are the most feature-complete. Blender is also adding them as part of geometry nodes, and there is also an add-on that is working on adding SDF for hard-surface. MagicaVoxel is fun and fantastic. The UX takes some getting used to. Note that he's been working on MagicaCSG [1] distant field editor and path tracing renderer in the recent years and although it's PC only, it's very interesting. Follow him on t/x as he's quite active there [2]. [1] https://ephtracy.github.io/index.html?page=magicacsg [2] https://twitter.com/ephtracy. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
There's also MagicaCSG [1] , from the same person who made MagicaVoxel [2]. [1] http://ephtracy.github.io/index.html?page=magicacsg [2] http://ephtracy.github.io/index.html?page=mv_main. - Source: Hacker News / over 4 years ago
MagicaCSG is a graphical signed distance field editor (by the author of Magica Voxel). The example video and images demonstrate how SDFs can be used for complex modelling!. - Source: Hacker News / about 5 years agohttps://ephtracy.github.io/index.html?page=magicacsg
