Features and specs

What each product offers, as listed by its team.

PrikDate 5 features
CommitCat 5 features
  • Simple and intuitive interface
PrikDate offers a clean, easy-to-navigate design that allows users to quickly create polls and schedule events without a steep learning curve.
  • Free to use
The core functionality of creating date polls and gathering availability from participants is offered at no cost, making it accessible for personal and small group use.
  • No account required
Users can create and participate in scheduling polls without needing to register an account, which speeds up the process and lowers the barrier to entry.
  • Great for group scheduling
The tool is specifically designed to help groups find a common date and time, making it useful for meetings, parties, or other group events.
  • Dutch language support
Being a Dutch platform, it caters well to Dutch-speaking users with localized language and possibly regional date/time formats, making it intuitive for that audience.
  • Simplified Git Interface
CommitCat aims to provide a user-friendly graphical interface for Git, making version control more accessible to developers who may find the command line intimidating or cumbersome.
  • Free and Open Source
CommitCat is offered as a free tool, lowering the barrier to entry for individuals and small teams who need a Git client without the cost associated with some commercial alternatives.
  • Cross-Platform Support
CommitCat is designed to work across multiple operating systems, allowing developers on different platforms to use the same familiar tool for their version control needs.
  • Beginner-Friendly
The tool is positioned to help newcomers to Git and version control by providing a more visual and intuitive way to manage repositories, commits, and branches without needing deep command-line expertise.
  • Lightweight Application
CommitCat is designed to be a lightweight Git client that doesn't consume excessive system resources, making it suitable for developers who prefer a lean, fast tool over feature-heavy alternatives.

Possible disadvantages

  • Limited Feature Set
Compared to more established Git clients like GitKraken, Sourcetree, or Fork, CommitCat may lack advanced features such as built-in merge conflict resolution tools, advanced branch visualization, or deep integration with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Small Community and Ecosystem
As a lesser-known tool, CommitCat has a smaller user community, which means fewer tutorials, community-driven plugins, and peer support compared to mainstream Git clients.
  • Limited Visibility and Traction
CommitCat appears to have limited online presence and user reviews, making it difficult for potential users to assess its reliability, maturity, and long-term viability before adopting it.
  • Uncertain Development Activity
It is unclear how actively CommitCat is being maintained and developed. A tool with infrequent updates may fall behind in compatibility with newer Git features or operating system updates.
  • Lack of Enterprise Features
CommitCat may not offer enterprise-grade features such as team collaboration tools, access control integrations, or support for large-scale repository management that organizations often require.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing PrikDate and CommitCat.

What makes your product unique?

PrikDate's answer

PrikDate is built specifically for choosing dates for group trips, rather than being a generic meeting scheduler. An organizer creates one poll, shares one link, and friends or family mark the days they can join — no account is required for anyone. It supports multi-day trip ranges, highlights the best overlap, lets the organizer confirm the final dates, and then continue with a destination poll. It is free and intentionally simple, so the decision does not get lost in group chats.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

PrikDate's answer

Choose PrikDate if you are planning a trip rather than a meeting. It is free, works without accounts for both organizers and participants, and keeps the flow focused: collect availability, identify the best date or multi-day period, confirm the trip dates, and optionally choose a destination together. That makes it faster and less confusing than coordinating through chat messages, spreadsheets, or feature-heavy scheduling tools.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

PrikDate's answer

PrikDate is made for friends, families, couples, clubs, and informal travel groups planning a vacation, weekend away, city break, ski trip, festival, or road trip. It is especially useful when several people need to compare availability and nobody wants to create an account or learn a complex planning tool.

What's the story behind your product?

PrikDate's answer

PrikDate grew out of a familiar group-trip problem: planning starts in a chat, several dates are suggested, replies arrive in different formats, and soon nobody knows which option works best. PrikDate puts that decision in one clear place. The product is intentionally focused on making the hardest first step of a group trip — choosing dates everyone can join — quick and simple.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

PrikDate's answer

  • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the lightweight web app
  • Supabase and PostgreSQL for polls, responses, and secure data access
  • Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare hosting for the application and edge services
  • Resend for optional transactional email updates

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

PrikDate's answer

PrikDate is a self-service consumer product and does not publish a list of named enterprise customers. Its main user groups are: - Groups of friends planning vacations or weekends away - Families coordinating shared trips and reunions - Couples and small travel groups comparing availability - Clubs and informal groups organizing ski trips, festivals, city breaks, or road trips
