  • Tell HN: Correct Result for "Google Books" in Bing but Not in Google
Searching for "google books" in google leads to https://books.google.com/ which no longer allows you to read any of your books. https://play.google.com/books is the site to read your purchased books now. Google search does not show https://play.google.com/books in its results at all. Thought it was some weird personalization quirk, but seems others have had the same issue:... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago

  • How to get Docs on Kindle Cloud Reader?
Itโ€™s not ideal, but you can try using Google Play Books in your internet browser to read your ePub files. The URL is https://play.google.com/books and there doesnโ€™t seem to be a limit to how many files you can upload. I use it as a way to back up all my files to the cloud as well as to read on computers where I donโ€™t want to have to download any programs. Source: over 3 years ago

  • Physical or digital for light novels? Longevity?
In general, the best solution for ensuring that you have your books (and have them in good condition) in the long run is to buy digital books and then remove the DRM (assuming that you can't buy them DRM-free in the first place, though most publishers don't do that). You can then back up the files however you like to ensure that they stick around. Unfortunately, that's becoming much harder to do with Kindle books... Source: over 3 years ago

So, let's say that you are writing a post on your website, but you also want to publish it on other platforms, like medium.com, dev.to or hashnode.com. We looked into a few different providers including GitBook, Docusaurus, Hashnode, Fern and Mintlify. There were various factors in the decision but the TLDR is that while we manage our SDKs with Fern, we chose Mintlify for docs as it had the best writing experience, supported custom React components, and was more affordable for hosting on a custom domain.
