  • Tell HN: Correct Result for "Google Books" in Bing but Not in Google
Searching for "google books" in google leads to https://books.google.com/ which no longer allows you to read any of your books. https://play.google.com/books is the site to read your purchased books now. Google search does not show https://play.google.com/books in its results at all. Thought it was some weird personalization quirk, but seems others have had the same issue:... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • Google Play Books is down for uploaded books
I'm hoping that it's just some kind of server outage but it's been down since around 7pm yesterday. https://play.google.com/books. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • How to get Docs on Kindle Cloud Reader?
It’s not ideal, but you can try using Google Play Books in your internet browser to read your ePub files. The URL is https://play.google.com/books and there doesn’t seem to be a limit to how many files you can upload. I use it as a way to back up all my files to the cloud as well as to read on computers where I don’t want to have to download any programs. Source: about 1 year ago
  • The only Quran app that work in dual screen mood in Duo
You do have to cloud upload it and then it syncs to all your devices. Which also means you can use play.google.com/books on your PC and mass-upload all your books. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Physical or digital for light novels? Longevity?
In general, the best solution for ensuring that you have your books (and have them in good condition) in the long run is to buy digital books and then remove the DRM (assuming that you can't buy them DRM-free in the first place, though most publishers don't do that). You can then back up the files however you like to ensure that they stick around. Unfortunately, that's becoming much harder to do with Kindle books... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Where to buy Wandering Witch ebooks?
Google Play Books is probably the second best option. The same software can be used to strip their DRM. Source: over 1 year ago
  • since 2019, did kindle figured out the page number issue ?
I read a lot on https://play.google.com/books in my browser and it will show page numbers, but it generates it on the fly based on your font and spacing settings, so it won't match the printed book or someone else's page numbers unless they have the exact same settings. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Does this mean Play Books will be unavailable on Mac starting next year? I use playbook for textbooks and wanna make sure I do not buy any for next semester until I know that it will continue to work.
Just go to https://play.google.com/books to access. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Where to read digital light novels?
The main sites for buying e-books in English would be Kobo, Amazon, B&N, and Google Play Books. All of them normally use DRM that makes it so that you can only read their books via whatever mobile app or PC application they provide or physical e-readers that they sell. That also means that if you lose access to your account (or that service goes away), you lose access to all of your books. Fortunately, for all... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Where do i get light novels from? Preferrably digital and is there a less expensive option?
You typically buy them from the normal places that you'd buy digital books, such as kobo.com, amazon.com, the Google Play Store, or bn.com. There's also Bookwalker, which specifically sells books that originate in Japan (both in Japanese and in English), but their DRM can't currently be removed, so I wouldn't advise buying from them, whereas you can remove the DRM from the books bought at normal e-book stores. If... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • How / where do I start reading LNs digitally?
For some publishers (e.g. j-novel.club), you can buy the books DRM-free directly from the publisher, but in most cases, you have to buy them from a store that sells e-books. Some of the more common ones are kobo.com, amazon.com, bn.com, play.google.com/books, and global.bookwalker.jp. Other than Bookwalker, it's possible to strip the DRM from books you buy using the calibre plugins found here. If you don't remove... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Sync notes you added before you turned on notes saving
I don't think it matters that you have a lot of books. Just open/download the one with the notes you want to save. You can also do this on a desktop or laptop computer via https://play.google.com/books (open the book, make sure saving annotations is on, and add a highlight). Source: almost 2 years ago

  • Error: "Google Play Books on the web isn't available for your account yet."
Anyone has ever seen this error when trying to access the web version of google play books (https://play.google.com/books)? I can't access my purchased books, or my library at all. Other browsers (I tried Firefox and Safari) or computers (I tried Mac and Linux) don't work either. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Can I read google play books on my kindle
So, if you've found one, go to https://play.google.com/books and click the 3 vertical dots next to the book you want. Click Export, and then Export as EPUB. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Where do you buy/find books that are not commonly sold at FullyBooked and National Bookstore?
For ebooks... (whispers) keep this a secret, and you didn't hear this from me either. Ehem ehem I read ebooks by uploding them to my https://play.google.com/books ; one the best e-readers in both PC and android/iOS. Source: about 2 years ago
  • [Deal] Tolkien Reading Day Sale on Amazon and Audile [US]
On android there is a default app for them - otherwise you can export them from play.google.com/books and read them on PC via adobe digital edition. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Does Anyone Have a Link To The Skins UK Novel?
Not OP but you can upload them on Google Play Books from your computer (or anyway from the desktop version of the website). This way it can keep track of where you've arrived and sync it with the Play Books app on your phone or tablet. I'm not sure this is the most comfortable way to do that but this is what I usually do. Otherwise the only apps I know for computer are for Linux... Source: over 2 years ago
  • The Strange Adventure of a Broke Mercenary - Volume 4 - English Cover
If you're looking to buy books digitally, then kobo.com is a good choice, but you can also buy from B&N, Google Play Books, or Amazon (though Amazon has a history of removing LNs and manga that they deem inappropriate). There's also Bookwalker, but unlike the others, there isn't currently a way to remove their DRM, which would mean having to read all of the books you buy from them via their app or their website,... • installed Fire Toolbox - which book software do you use?
If you're reading epubs, I would suggesting just using Google Play Books, which lets you manage your books on other platforms, upload, etc. And then download via Play Books to your tablet. I do this. Before I started using this, I was very happy with Moon+ Reader -- I started with the free version and quickly went to Pro. It'll handle a lot more filetypes, while Google Play Books is just epubs. Source: over 2 years ago
  • How to add audio book to Google Play
I want to play audio books in android automotive application (Google Audio books). I have multiple audio book split to multiple mp3 files (downloaded from another audio book store). Then I have converted this to one m4b file in Mac OS app from AppStore. I have tried to upload mp3 file(s) to google play (https://play.google.com/books) and also m4b file but it doesn't seem to accept it. How to do this? Source: over 2 years ago
