Features and specs

What each product offers, as listed by its team.

Planpoint 5 features
CommitCat 5 features
  • Interactive visualization
Planpoint offers interactive floor plan and unit viewers that let prospective buyers or renters explore available units, layouts, views, and finishes in a visual way. This is more engaging than static PDFs or brochures and helps users understand a property before visiting.
  • Real-time availability and pricing
The platform is designed to show live unit availability, pricing, and status, so prospects see current information. This reduces confusion, cuts down on back-and-forth with sales teams, and helps shorten the decision process.
  • Supports sales and leasing teams
Interactive tours and unit selection tools give sales and leasing teams a strong presentation aid, whether for in-person sales centers or remote showings. Lead capture and engagement tracking can help teams follow up with interested prospects.
  • Works for pre-construction projects
Because it relies on plans, renderings, and 3D or 2D visuals rather than finished physical units, Planpoint is well suited to developers marketing buildings that are not yet complete. Buyers can visualize the project and choose units before construction ends.
  • Easy to embed and share
The viewer can typically be embedded on a developer's website or shared via link, making it accessible on desktop and mobile devices without special software. This broadens reach and makes it simple to include in marketing campaigns.
  • Simplified Git Interface
CommitCat aims to provide a user-friendly graphical interface for Git, making version control more accessible to developers who may find the command line intimidating or cumbersome.
  • Free and Open Source
CommitCat is offered as a free tool, lowering the barrier to entry for individuals and small teams who need a Git client without the cost associated with some commercial alternatives.
  • Cross-Platform Support
CommitCat is designed to work across multiple operating systems, allowing developers on different platforms to use the same familiar tool for their version control needs.
  • Beginner-Friendly
The tool is positioned to help newcomers to Git and version control by providing a more visual and intuitive way to manage repositories, commits, and branches without needing deep command-line expertise.
  • Lightweight Application
CommitCat is designed to be a lightweight Git client that doesn't consume excessive system resources, making it suitable for developers who prefer a lean, fast tool over feature-heavy alternatives.

Possible disadvantages

  • Limited Feature Set
Compared to more established Git clients like GitKraken, Sourcetree, or Fork, CommitCat may lack advanced features such as built-in merge conflict resolution tools, advanced branch visualization, or deep integration with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Small Community and Ecosystem
As a lesser-known tool, CommitCat has a smaller user community, which means fewer tutorials, community-driven plugins, and peer support compared to mainstream Git clients.
  • Limited Visibility and Traction
CommitCat appears to have limited online presence and user reviews, making it difficult for potential users to assess its reliability, maturity, and long-term viability before adopting it.
  • Uncertain Development Activity
It is unclear how actively CommitCat is being maintained and developed. A tool with infrequent updates may fall behind in compatibility with newer Git features or operating system updates.
  • Lack of Enterprise Features
CommitCat may not offer enterprise-grade features such as team collaboration tools, access control integrations, or support for large-scale repository management that organizations often require.

Why this product is good

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Planpoint and CommitCat.

What makes your product unique?

Planpoint's answer

A few things genuinely set Planpoint apart, and they're worth separating from the table-stakes features every plan viewer claims.

The biggest one is range within a single product. Most competitors do one thing, a flat 2D unit selector. Planpoint spans flat 2D, stepped rotation (Orbit), and full Immersive 3D, across 9 themes and 6 modes, so a client can start simple and scale up to a high-end immersive experience without switching vendors or rebuilding. That flexibility is hard to match.

Second is that it's a connected sales tool, not just a viewer. Real-time pricing and availability plus integrations with Salesforce, SparkRE, BuildingStack, Calendly, and PayPal mean it plugs into the actual sales stack. A lot of "interactive floor plan" tools are essentially clickable images; Planpoint moves inventory.
