Basically, I'm getting results like these on average: https://imgur.com/X7RV1LH from running Salesforce's speedtest tool. It's a pretty new computer, brand new job for me (though I experienced this in an old job as well) so I don't have a great baseline. As you can see, everything is good except the download speeds. It's a server management service, they use AWS (or your host of choice) under the hood. I personally use something similar called Runcloud which I haven't had any problems with. It's a halfway house between a managed platform and your own VPS. Means you don't have to worry about security, vhosts, ssl certificates, restricting access etc... For PHP https://platform.sh has got a lot of traction, but it's notc cheap especially for small apps.
