Pillar is an open-source copilot SDK that turns user requests into completed actions inside your product. Users ask a question, and instead of reading a help article, Pillar navigates them to the right page, pre-fills a form, or calls an API on their behalf. It runs client-side in the user's browser using their existing session and permissions.

The SDK gives your app five capabilities: answer questions using RAG search across your docs, navigate users to the right page, pre-fill forms, execute API calls, and escalate to human support through Intercom, Zendesk, or Freshdesk.

Pillar has three layers. Frontend components that drop into your app using your existing auth and CSS. A hosted reasoning engine that plans and orchestrates actions across OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and other model providers. And a managed knowledge base that crawls and indexes your docs automatically.

Execution happens client-side. Actions run in the user's browser with their session, so the copilot can't do anything the user can't do. You define actions as functions in your frontend code. They use the user's auth tokens and hit your APIs directly. No credentials pass through Pillar's servers.

Pillar replaces the typical copilot stack (chat SDK + agent framework + vector DB + glue code) with one install. It ships with an MCP server and registers your actions as WebMCP tools for browser-based AI agents. The copilot can render custom cards using your existing React components inline in chat.

Built for product and engineering teams at B2B SaaS companies. SDKs work with React, Vue, Angular, and vanilla JavaScript. MIT-licensed, backed by Y Combinator and Matrix Partners. Pricing is usage-based, starting free (50 responses) with paid plans from $19/mo to $249/mo.

Pillar features and specs

  • All-in-one creator platform
Pillar consolidates multiple tools into a single platform, offering link-in-bio pages, digital storefront, media kit, invoicing, brand deal management, and moreโ€”reducing the need for creators to juggle several separate services.
  • Built-in digital storefront
Creators can easily sell digital products, courses, memberships, and other offerings directly through Pillar without needing a separate e-commerce platform, simplifying the monetization process.
  • Automatic media kit generation
Pillar automatically pulls in social media analytics and generates a professional media kit, making it easier for creators to pitch to brands and showcase their value without manually compiling stats.
  • Brand deal and sponsorship management
The platform includes tools for managing brand partnerships, tracking deals, sending invoices, and handling contracts, streamlining the business side of content creation.
  • Clean, modern user experience
Pillar offers a well-designed, intuitive interface that makes it relatively easy for creators to set up their pages, manage products, and track their income without a steep learning curve.

Possible disadvantages of Pillar

  • Pricing can be expensive for smaller creators
Pillar's subscription pricing may feel steep for newer or smaller creators who are just starting to monetize and don't yet generate enough revenue to justify the monthly cost.
  • Limited customization options
Compared to dedicated website builders or standalone link-in-bio tools, Pillar's customization options for pages and storefronts can feel somewhat limited in terms of design flexibility and branding.
  • Platform dependency risk
By consolidating so many business functions into one platform, creators become heavily dependent on Pillar. If the service changes pricing, features, or shuts down, migrating everything elsewhere can be disruptive.
  • Relatively newer platform with smaller community
Compared to established alternatives like Linktree, Gumroad, or Kajabi, Pillar has a smaller user base, which means fewer community resources, third-party tutorials, and integrations available.
  • Limited third-party integrations
Pillar may not integrate as seamlessly with all the external tools, email marketing platforms, or analytics services that creators already use, which can create workflow gaps for power users.

Verloop features and specs

  • AI-Powered Automation
Verloop uses advanced AI to automate customer support, reducing human effort and accelerating response times.
  • Multi-Channel Support
The platform supports various communication channels such as website chat, email, and social media, ensuring comprehensive coverage and customer reach.

Verloop provides in-depth analytics and reporting features that help businesses understand customer interactions and optimize performance.
  • Seamless Integrations
The platform integrates easily with other essential tools and systems like CRM and e-commerce platforms, ensuring a streamlined workflow.

Possible disadvantages of Verloop

  • Pricing
Verloop can be relatively expensive compared to other customer support automation solutions, potentially making it less accessible for small businesses.
  • Learning Curve
The platform may have a steep learning curve for new users, requiring time and training to leverage its full capabilities.
  • Limited Offline Support
While Verloop excels in online interactions, its support options for offline engagements are limited, which could be a drawback for some businesses.
  • Dependency on Internet
Since it is a cloud-based solution, Verloop requires a stable internet connection to function effectively, which could be a limitation in areas with poor connectivity.
  • Occasional Bot Misunderstandings
Despite its advanced AI, there can be instances where the chatbot might misinterpret user queries, leading to potential customer frustration.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Pillar and Verloop.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Pillar's answer

We're early stage and growing โ€” focused on working closely with design partners in the B2B SaaS space. We're not sharing specific customer names publicly at this time.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Pillar's answer

React, Next.js, TypeScript, Python, Django, and PostgreSQL. The frontend SDKs support React, Vue, Angular, and vanilla JavaScript. Pillar uses MCP (Model Context Protocol) for tool integration and RAG for knowledge retrieval. The SDKs are open-source under the MIT license.

What's the story behind your product?

Pillar's answer

We kept seeing the same pattern across SaaS products: users know what they want to do but can't figure out how to do it. They search docs, open tickets, watch tutorials, and switch back to the app โ€” a 5 to 10 minute process for a task that should take seconds. Existing tools could explain how, but none of them could just do it. We built Pillar to close that gap โ€” an AI assistant that takes action inside the product, not just talks about it.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Pillar's answer

B2B SaaS teams โ€” specifically engineering and product leaders at Series A through Series D companies with 40 to 500 employees. These are teams that want to reduce support tickets, improve user activation, and help users get value from their product faster without building an AI copilot from scratch.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Pillar's answer

Most alternatives only solve part of the problem. Help centers answer questions but can't take action. DAPs like Pendo and WalkMe show guided tours but don't execute tasks. Building your own with CopilotKit, LangGraph, and a vector database takes months and ongoing maintenance. Pillar replaces that entire stack with a single SDK you can deploy in minutes โ€” one install that handles knowledge, reasoning, and action execution out of the box.

What makes your product unique?

Pillar's answer

Pillar is the only copilot SDK that executes tasks inside your product instead of just answering questions. While chatbots explain how to do things, Pillar navigates users to the right page, pre-fills forms, and calls APIs on their behalf. It runs client-side in the user's browser session with their existing auth and permissions, so there's no proxy server or token forwarding needed.
