  • Licensing Complexities
Even though assets are free, they come with various open-source licenses that users must understand and comply with, which can be complex and time-consuming.
  • Limited Support
Being a community-driven platform, it may not offer the level of support that some developers might need. There is no dedicated customer service for troubleshooting issues related to using assets.
  • Asset Discoverability
Despite the search and filter options, finding specific types of high-quality assets can sometimes be challenging due to the large volume of submissions.
  • Not Always Game-Ready
Some assets might require additional work to be game-ready, such as editing or optimization, which could add to the development time.

Possible disadvantages of Mobile Game Graphics

  • Limited Exclusivity
Since the assets are available for purchase by anyone, multiple games might end up using the same graphics, which can reduce uniqueness.
  • Style Variability
The variety of styles may not always cohesively match more niche or specific artistic directions that developers might want for their game.
  • Licensing Restrictions
Some assets may come with licensing restrictions that limit how they can be used, impacting the game's distribution and monetization strategies.
  • Dependence on Third-Party Assets
Relying heavily on pre-made graphics might limit customization options and the ability to create a truly unique visual style for the game.

  • Does anyone know where I can find some free 2d backgrounds for a bank robbery?
Ive looked on itch.io, gamedevmarket.net, opengameart.org, and r/gameassets but didnt find any. Surely bank robberies are a common enough theme to be some out there somewhere, but I cant find them and I just started so I don't know where else to look tbh. Im also a broke college student so it needs to be a free asset or I cannot afford it lol. Source: over 1 year ago
