  • Found 400+ sites for launching a startup, then tried each one. Here are the results...
You could add my site... https://openmakers.io. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Recently Launched a site for those who build in public called Open Makers. A place for makers to share their journey.
We launched Open Makers a while ago and it's slowly been picking up traction. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts, specifically on what key thing is missing. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • Is it reasonable to share SaaS usage stats (e.g., daily visitors, downloads, sales, etc.) publicly?
Open Makers (https://openmakers.io), you can pull in Google stats and Stripe for your products, plus it's a central place to share about your build in progress updates and quite a few other things. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • Been building a free website for those who build in public to share their milestones and more...
We have been building https://openmakers.io/ for a while now and slowly getting some traction from the maker community, would love to hear some feedback on what we could improve, or anything else really. Our next big update will include a commenting system so that we have some more active feedback between members. Source: about 4 years ago
  • People here using "Link in Bio" tools, why do you started using them?
Really the biggest issue is that people simply don't know it exists as I haven't done a ton of marketing for it. I have been focusing on my other project Open Makers instead (https://openmakers.io). Source: over 4 years ago

  • Ask HN: Google migrated Google Workspace billing to Squrespace, now what?
I wanted to like Porkbun but failed to buy a .io domain through them because of technical problems on their end. Their website is also a bit programmer-y and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone non-technical. (Eg UX of login flow includes "Leave password blank if using a passkey or passwordless login.") I ended up using http://hover.com. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • What registrar is better than LetsHost?
For my .ie domains I use blacknight, hate it but cant be bothered to change, for everything else I use hover.com. They havnt caused me any problems but I don't actually use them for dns thats just where buy the domain. Source: about 3 years ago
  • How to setup two domains for use with Polylang?
Hey, I am currently creating a multilingual website with Polylang and I want to use two domains. How do I need to setup the domains for it to work? I bought the domains on hover.com and I use Siteground as my hoster, so I changed the nameservers from hover to Siteground for both domains. What else do I need to setup and where exactly? Is this forum the right one to ask for this? If not which one is? Source: over 3 years ago
  • Can't get emails working
At first I was trying to get the hover.com emails to work but their support even recommended going with someone else so I went with MailGun but now I feel like I've either done something wrong from the beginning and need to redo it all or I simply just don't understand what it is I need to do. • Author Website
Beware of "free" domain names or hosting with domain name. It's important that you and you only, control your domain name. If you get a "free" name with a hosting service, you may be tied to that service, no matter how lousy or expensive they become, because they control your domain name. I'm a semi-retired web developer. I recommend hover.com for domain names and Siteground.com for WordPress hosting. And... Source: almost 4 years ago
