  • Reliable Infrastructure and Support

Possible disadvantages

  • Smaller Community and Ecosystem
Compared to major hosting providers like DigitalOcean, AWS, or even shared hosts like SiteGround, Opalstack has a smaller user base, which means fewer community tutorials, third-party guides, and forum discussions available for troubleshooting.
  • Limited Scalability Options
Opalstack is primarily a shared hosting provider, which means it may not be the best choice for high-traffic applications or projects that require rapid, on-demand scaling of resources like CPU, RAM, or storage.
  • Not Ideal for Beginners
While developer-friendly, Opalstack's approach can be intimidating for non-technical users. Setting up applications often requires familiarity with the command line and server configuration, which may not suit those looking for simple one-click solutions.
  • Limited Data Center Locations
Opalstack offers a relatively small number of data center locations compared to major cloud providers, which may result in higher latency for users targeting audiences in regions not well-served by the available server locations.
  • Fewer Managed Services and Add-ons
Unlike larger hosting platforms, Opalstack lacks a wide range of managed add-on services such as built-in CDN integration, managed backups with granular restore options, or one-click SSL management that more mainstream providers offer out of the box.
  • Feature name Value or description Online Booking Widget
Branded website widget for quotes, reservations, routes, vehicle selection, extras, promo codes and secure checkout.
  • Reservation Management

Configure base rates, included mileage, distance tiers, waiting time, stops and route-specific pricing.

Capture airline and flight information for airport transfers and keep arrival details connected to the reservation.
  • Geo-Fences
Create service zones for airport pricing, congestion fees, promotions, taxes and location-based rate adjustments.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Opalstack and E-BookNow.

What makes your product unique?

E-BookNow's answer:

E-BookNow connects the complete reservation lifecycle in one cloud platform: a management dashboard, embeddable web booking widget, driver app, passenger app, pricing tools, reports, and partner communities. Its connected network allows companies, dispatchers, professional drivers, and greeters to coordinate work across different locations and organizations. Drivers can receive offers from multiple companies through one app, while operators manage bookings, assignments, rates, payments, documents, and passenger communication using the same live data.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

E-BookNow's answer:

E-BookNow is designed to replace disconnected booking, dispatch, driver, payment, and reporting tools with one coordinated platform. Operators can accept reservations from their own website, manage rates and vehicles, assign jobs, communicate with drivers and passengers, process payments, and review operational reports without repeatedly transferring information between separate applications. It also offers flexible pricing controls, add-ons, promo codes, flight status, geo-fences, TLC document checks, taxes, fees, toll rules, and a 365-day free launch period.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

E-BookNow's answer:

E-BookNow is built for limousine, chauffeur, livery, black car, airport transportation, and private car service companies. Its primary users include business owners, reservation agents, dispatchers, fleet managers, professional drivers, and operations teams. It is suitable for independent operators beginning to accept online bookings as well as established transportation companies that need higher reservation capacity, multiple company profiles, passenger self-service, driver coordination, compliance tools, and advanced reporting.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

E-BookNow's answer:

E-BookNow uses Vue.js and JavaScript for its reactive web interfaces, with Android and iOS technologies supporting its mobile applications. Firebase provides cloud infrastructure, authentication, real-time data synchronization, hosting, and backend services. The platform also integrates services such as Google Maps for locations and routes, FlightAware for flight information, Vonage for communications, and Stripe and PayPal for payment workflows.

What's the story behind your product?

E-BookNow's answer:

E-BookNow began as a custom solution created to meet the real operational needs of a limousine and private car service company. The business needed a better way to manage reservations, scheduling, dispatch, drivers, passengers, payments, and daily operations without relying on disconnected tools.

Working closely with a software development company, those practical requirements were transformed into a complete cloud platform. Features were designed around real booking and dispatch workflows, tested in day-to-day transportation operations, and continuously improved as new needs appeared.

What started as software for one company evolved into E-BookNow: an all-in-one booking, reservation, scheduling, and dispatch platform available to limousine, chauffeur, livery, and private car service businesses of different sizes.
