Vesta Binder is a home document manager that keeps your warranties, insurance policies, leases, appliance manuals, and other household paperwork in one place. Instead of digging through folders, you ask questions in plain English and get answers with the source document cited, so you can trust where the answer came from.
It also tracks expiration dates and sends reminders before warranties or policies lapse, supports multiple household members with role-based access, and keeps everything private and organized. Available on web, iOS, and Android.

Next.js and Tailwind CSS on the frontend. Fastify, Prisma, and PostgreSQL on the backend. Anthropic Claude, Sonnet and Haiku models, for the AI Q&A engine. Tesseract.js for OCR. AWS S3 for storage and SES for email. Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications. Stripe for billing.

Vesta Binder is built around one job: getting a trusted person to the right home information fast during a stressful moment. Instead of a general document store, it has emergency-first categories, AI Q&A that's instructed to answer only from your own uploaded documents and cites which ones it used, and automatic masking of financial and policy numbers, down to the last 4 digits, for people who shouldn't see the full number.

Sharing is role-based across seven levels, from full editor down to service-provider access, not just an all-or-nothing share link, and new invitees default to read-only viewer access. Security isn't just claimed: cross-home data isolation, audit logging, and rate-limited auth are covered by an automated regression test suite, and sensitive identifiers are masked per-viewer at the AI and document layer.

Homeowners and renters who want one trusted place for household-critical info, insurance, contacts, shutoffs, medical, Wi-Fi, and who share responsibility for the home with at least one other person: a spouse, a sitter, an adult child helping aging parents, or someone managing more than one property.

Vesta Binder started from a real need to relay home information to someone else. The first attempt was a shared Google Doc, but it didn't allow fine-grained control over who saw what, and trusted viewers had to wade through information that wasn't relevant to them just to find what they needed. Basic search didn't solve that either, it couldn't surface the right answer the way it needed to. That gap led to building AI-powered search directly into the product, so the right answer surfaces on its own instead of making someone dig through everything.
