Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing MocDoc and Stacy Notes.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Stacy Notes's answer:

TypeScript and React across the board, Electron for the Mac/Windows/Linux desktop app, Capacitor for iOS and Android, and Node.js/PostgreSQL on the backend. The MCP server integration is built on Anthropic's Model Context Protocol.

What makes your product unique?

Stacy Notes's answer:

Stacy is the only local-first notes app with a built-in MCP server — Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor can read and write directly into your notes without a plugin. It also combines real databases, a knowledge graph with backlinks, whiteboards, and "require email to view" shared pages in one app, so you don't need to stitch together Notion, Obsidian, and a separate landing-page tool.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Stacy Notes's answer:

Most competitors make you choose: Notion for databases, Obsidian for linked notes and a knowledge graph, and a separate tool for AI or lead-capture pages. Stacy keeps all of it local-first on your own device, adds a native MCP server so your AI tools can actually use your notes, and lets any page double as an email-capture landing page — without extra subscriptions or plugins.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Stacy Notes's answer:

Knowledge workers, indie makers, and small teams who already use Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor day-to-day and want their notes, docs, and databases to be something their AI tools can actually read and write — not a separate silo.

What's the story behind your product?

Stacy Notes's answer:

Stacy started from a simple frustration: getting real work done meant juggling Notion for structure, Obsidian for linked thinking, and yet another tool just to hand any of it to an AI assistant. Stacy was built to collapse that into one local-first workspace, with AI access built in from day one via MCP rather than bolted on afterward.
